Heart wrenching story:

Heart wrenching is not the word. Rather, I would say it’s most poignant instance in my life ever. It was a cold morning during the month of September.. I was walking along the asphalt road on one of the busiest streets in Bangalore. I unexpectedly came across something bizarre. Something that was appalling.

There was an infant on the road. He was completely naked and was looking for something to eat in every trash on the street. I quietly stood over there and observed his every move.

Fortunately, he got a food packet with little roti in it, thrown by a pedestrian. I could see glee lighting over his face. He sat in a corner of the pavement, comfortably to eat.

No sooner he started eating, there was a street dog, waving its tail and expecting him to feed it. The boy gobbled few handfuls and gladly gave it to the dog and patted it over by running his fingers across its fur. The scene is etched in my mind.

I thus learnt that however we starve; we need to first quench our thirst only after getting the pleasure of helping others to quench their thirsts. An arousing experience which was heart throbbing. I later went to the boy and gave him a huge chocolate bar. His smile spoke thousand thanks. I went away happily…

INDIA: YOUNG AND ALONE

PLEASE WATCH IT

Is this where the world is going? Life of refugees fleeing from Myanmar to India is pathetic. They do not have any inkling about their future. No food, no proper dwellings make their lives miserable. They wander in the streets of Delhi just to find few grains of food to survive. Of course the UN refugee agency provides these helpless people with few dollars a month. But will that amount be enough to make a living? The life of refugees from Myanmar is typically portrayed in the documentary ‘India: young and alone’. Days of 16 year old Ni Ang from Burma, is spent in Delhi’s night market searching for food to feed herself and her three younger siblings.
This documentary has a greater impact on the society. Myanmar has to be saved from such atrocities. These refugees must be provided with proper facilities and education. Please watch it.

Is India challenging with the US in spite of having a dire economy?

The proposed start of warhorse missile- PSLV to explore Martian atmosphere is expected to be launched in the month of November, 2013. If the Rs. 450 crore Mars Orbiter Mission with the 25 kg scientific payload is launched, India will be swollen with pride to become sixth nation to explore the red planed after the US, Russia, Europe, Japan and China.
It’s of course the most delighted and esteemed moment for India. But is it actually required to create such a competition with the US who launched ‘curiosity rover’? Possibly not. Lacking in fair economy and good governance, India has to sense twice before proposing it.
India has almost 30% of people below poverty line. The richer is getting richer and the poorer is getting poorer. There are more destitute in every parts of our country who needs basic necessities. India can spend Rs. 450 crore to explore Mars, but why can’t it spend few lakhs and construct a dwelling for them?
Every individual have to evoke and think of it and make others aware about the measures that can be taken to improve the economic status of our country.
